The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has accredited the Diploma and Certificate in International Insurance Management, offered by GTA University Centre in partnership with the Guernsey International Insurance Association (GIIA), and Sagacious Group. CII accreditation represents the high quality CPD learning content provided, as well as an effective learning experience. This accreditation marks a significant milestone for the courses, tailored specifically to enhance expertise within the Guernsey international insurance sector.

In February, I updated you on the completion of our initial Membership by Professional Experience pilot. Much progress has been made since then, and the Board received further information and recommendations on how best to progress this initiative at its April meeting. In particular, we heard about proposals to do a further, and final, pilot to validate (or further inform) our thinking using a larger cohort of individuals.  This will include the exploration of corporate and chartered GI cohorts. The Board was supportive of taking the initiative forward in line with the proposed recommendations, keeping in our minds the constructive and helpful experiences of those who participated in the initial pilot. It continues to be the case that any new routes to membership must be aligned with the Professional Map, to ensure the highest professional standards can continue to be met.

The CII is set on a path of change to make us the best possible Institute for our members and customers. We are reflecting on every aspect of the Institute, spanning leadership, culture, organisation and value for money, consistent with achieving the goals set out in our Strategic Plan 2023-27.
